Work related violence is still at an unacceptable level, with effects of violence affecting both the individual and the organisation. Under the Health and Safety at Work ect. Act 1974, employers must provide a safe please in which to work. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 further state that employers have a duty to assess significant risk to their employees – including risk related to violence – and to introduce appropriate control measures.
