Supported by the Department of Health and Smokefree England, this one day training seminar will explain what the new smokefree legislation means for care homes. It will not only clearly define your legal responsibilities but provide practical advice on how best to implement them from day-to-day.

How you will benefit from attending

  • Ensure you are complying with the smokefree law as it applies to care homes
  • Understand and receive guidance on how the legislation applies to residents with mental health needs, including Alzheimer’s disease
  • Gain techniques to encourage and support residents in giving up smoking
  • Hear good practice models and learn from other care homes’ smokefree initiative experiences
  • Be clear on when and where smoking within your care home is permitted
