Travelling by Car, Bus, Taxi, Coach, Air and Rail to the East Midlands Conference Centre (EMCC)

By car
Leave the M1 motorway at Junction 25 and join the A52 to Nottingham. Go straight on at the first and second islands. On reaching the third island with the Toby Inn on the left hand side and a petrol station on the right, turn right onto Woodside Road (the B6464). Follow Woodside Road for approximately ½ a mile to another smaller island. Turn left at the island into the West Entrance to the University of Nottingham and follow the road around to the left for approximately ½ a mile, the entrance to the EMCC car park is situated on the right.
From the A1 at Grantham, take the A52 to Nottingham. Travel for approximately 30 miles, passed Bingham, Radcliffe on Trent and West Bridgford. On approaching Nottingham, pass the Industrial Park with the Showcase Cinema Complex on your left and take the left hand slip lane down to an island. Turn left at the island onto Beeston Road. Follow the road onto the dual carriageway, University Boulevard. At the island turn right and the next island turn right again into the West Entrance to the University of Nottingham. Follow the road around to the left for approximately ½ a mile, the entrance to the EMCC car park is situated on the right.
By bus
Nottingham City Transport service numbers 35, 36, 37, 38 from Friar Lane, or a Barton Bus R4 from the Broad Marsh Bus Station, in the City Centre, are the most frequent services during both daytime and evenings. The bus stops are situated on the main road, approximately 10 minutes walk through the University grounds to the EMCC.
By taxi
There are taxi ranks throughout the City Centre and immediately adjacent to the main railway and bus stations. The journey to the EMCC takes about 10 minutes.
By coach
Nottingham’s Broadmarsh Bus Station has express coach services to and from London, Edinburgh and many other UK cities. The station is only a few minutes’ walk from the City Centre. A taxi journey to the EMCC takes around 15 minutes.
By air
East Midlands Airport is approximately ten miles south of the EMCC. There are regular flights to and from Scotland, Ireland, the channel Islands and mainland Europe. The journey by taxi from the airport takes about 30 minutes.
By rail
Nottingham’s mainline station, close to the City Centre, has excellent inter-city services to London (only 105 minutes) and to other major cities, including Manchester (108 minutes) and Birmingham (72 minutes). A journey by taxi to the campus takes around 15 minutes.
