Becoming an environmental health practitioner (EHP)

If you’re someone who enjoys variety and a new challenge every day, environmental health could be just the career for you.

It offers unrivalled opportunities to work in all kinds of organisations, including local and central government, the armed forces, the NHS and industry.

As an environmental health practitioner (EHP), you can choose to be a generalist or to specialise in a particular area. You might be employed by a major supermarket chain to manage food safety and hygiene, or by a housing association to advise on housing standards, or by a local authority to deal with noise nuisance or environmental pollution.

Whatever path you choose, you’ll have the satisfaction that comes from doing work that makes a positive contribution to public health and has a real impact on people’s lives.

Visit www.ehcareers.org for all the information you need on becoming an EHP.
