Education & Professional Standards
The remit of the Education & Professional Standards division is to:
- Facilitate the provision of quality education and training for practitioners in environmental health
- Support students and professionals in their training and development to achieve high standards of professional practice
- Work with key partners in government, NGOs and academia, and with employers, to ensure that the training and development needs of environmental health professionals are identified and met
Our work includes:
- Providing quality assured assessment and examination regimes
- Working in partnership with academic colleagues to ensure the relevance of course contents and the sharing of best practice
- Providing a support network for students, enabling them to access advice and information when they need it
- Promoting and supporting research into environmental health theory and practice, to establish an evidence base
- Promoting and facilitating the dissemination of best practice in all aspects of environmental health, to aid the training and development of practitioners
- Promoting environmental health as a rewarding and interesting career, to ensure the future supply of practitioners
- Promoting high standards of professional practice, to maintain the status of the environmental health profession
